Portugal Takes Center Stage at the Bogotá University Fair Supported by Strong Diplomatic Backing
The promotion of Portuguese higher education reached another major milestone with a highly impactful participation at Expo Estudiante, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bogotá. Under the Study & Research in Portugal banner, the national delegation brought together 24 universities and polytechnic universities, standing out as the largest foreign representation at this prestigious international event.
The mission had the decisive and close support of Portugal’s diplomatic representation in Colombia, led by Ambassador Catarina Arruda. The Head of Mission made a point of closely following the event’s activities, maintaining direct contact with representatives of Portuguese Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and demonstrating her full institutional commitment to strengthening the visibility and position of national academia in Latin America.
During her visit to the fair, Ambassador, Catarina Arruda, and the diplomatic team exchanged highly positive impressions with the university delegates and connected directly with Colombian students interested in pursuing higher education in Portugal.
Throughout the event, the Portuguese pavilion saw a steady stream of young people and families seeking information about academic programs, mobility initiatives, scholarships, and the academic environment in Portugal. The active presence of the diplomatic corps alongside representatives of Portuguese HEIs consolidated the success of the mission, reinforcing the internationalization strategy and deepening ties between Portugal and Colombia.
