Participation in Expo Estudiante 2026 | Mexico City

Success and High Engagement Mark Portugal’s Participation in Expo Estudiante in Mexico City

The Portuguese higher education delegation in Mexico kicked off its mission on a high note with a vibrant and enthusiastic presence at Expo Estudiante / Expo Posgrados, hosted at the Sheraton María Isabel Hotel in Mexico City. Bringing together 24 Portuguese higher education institutions under the Study & Research in Portugal banner, the delegation actively promoted the country as a premier academic destination for Mexican students.

The initiative began with an official reception hosted by Portugal’s diplomatic representation in Mexico, honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Portugal, Pedro Abecasis da Costa Pereira, and Cultural and Cooperation Attaché, Luísa Fernandes. The gathering highlighted the strong unity and collaboration between Portuguese diplomacy and higher education institutions on the ground.

Once the exhibition doors opened, the Portuguese pavilion drew large crowds of young Mexicans eager to explore undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral opportunities in Portugal. Throughout the event, the venue was filled with enthusiastic students and families seeking detailed information on degree programs, application procedures, and student life in Portugal.

Through direct conversations, shared experiences, and personalized guidance, representatives from Portuguese universities and polytechnic institutes showcased the quality, innovation, and global appeal of Portugal’s higher education system.

The overwhelming response from local students reinforces Portugal’s strategic commitment to internationalizing its higher education sector and deepens academic and cultural ties between Portugal and Mexico.
